Superior Filtration
Two layers of pre-oiled cotton offer far better filtration than a paper or foam air filter.The cotton allows higher air flow than paper, and the sticky oil excels at catching any impurities that it comes into contact with when compared to a dry filter. The pleated shape gives more surface area with which to trap impurities than an oiled foam air filter. With a plain foam filter, high pressure can cause distortion, drawing trapped dirt through the filter. The wire mesh on a KS filter prevents this distortion, keeping any trapped dust in the filter where it belongs.
Superior Air Flow
Using cotton with oil instead of paper means better air flow as well as cleaner air. Typically, paper filters must be dense in order to filter effectively without oil - the result is a restriction of air flow. Because the dirt is caught by sticking to the oil, instead of being caught in the small gaps in paper, a KS filter can trap a lot more dirt before you start to notice a reduction in air flow. Paper fibres swell in moisture, further reducing air flow: a cotton KS filter does not have this problem.

Washable, Reusable
